Exploring Picket Post Mountain at Sunset

We set out with our We Click Phoenix community photo group with the hopes of catching the milky way. Unfortunately (or fortunately) Mother Nature had different plans. We are in the midst of monsoon season in Phoenix and we've desperately needed and welcomed the rain. The rain clouds, however, did interfere with our night photography. Instead, we were the audience to a gorgeous Arizona sunset! So while we didn't get the stars we got some gorgeous color! We are always asked if we'll cancel events due to weather. Our answer is always no. Life and circumstance isn't going to always unfold how you want. Sometimes you just have to ride it out and get surprised and appreciate what has unfolded instead. There will always be a shot, but you have to get up and go look for it! Don't miss the sunset because you had your mind set on the milky way!
