Exploretographing Eagles at Lock and Dam 14

Updated: Jun 17, 2018

Eagle Fishing at Lock and Dam 14

A favorite winter outing of our community photo group is the short trip from Illinois to Iowa to capture the magnificent bald eagles fish out of the icy river. On an active eagle morning you are likely to see photographers lined up almost shoulder to shoulder with drool-worthy lenses, covered from head to foot protecting us from the freezing temperatures. Some of our groups best images and favorite memories come from these eagle outings! For this outing we rented the following lenses from our friends at www.borrowlenses.com: Nikon 600mm f4, Canon 600mm f4, and the Tamron 150-600 5.6-6.3. Our members got to try them out if they chose. The Tamron was a favorite while the 600mm took some getting used to (but capture exceptional images).
