He Clicks-She Clicks at the Bartonville Asylum

We love to explore historic, abandoned building when we come across them. This amazing building, near Peoria IL, is fighting for it's life now, as it's in danger of being demolished because the cost to upkeep the asylum has become too extreme. Before the possibility that the building would no longer exist, we had to take a group for a tour of this facility where many advancements of treatment for the mentally ill were made. There had definitely been much evidence of late night visitors with their spray cans, but still an amazing experience. After touring the building we took a walk of the surrounding cemeteries where patients were buried labeled only by numbers, not names. ETA: this building has since been demolished.
